  • Recommendation:

    That council hereby adopts the minutes of the special council meeting of March 30, 2021 and the regular council meeting of April 6, 2021, as circulated.

  • Recommendation:

    That council send a letter of appreciation to Community Emergency Management Coordinator Chief Phil Schwartz and the West Grey Emergency Management Group thanking them for their work towards making West Grey compliant with the EMCPA in 2020.

  • Recommendation:

    That the Council of the Municipality of West Grey hereby supports a Broadband Collaborative Decision-Making Framework initiative led by the County of Grey; and

    Requests the County work with all lower tier municipalities to achieve this goal.

  • Recommendation:

    That the Municipality of West Grey hereby supports the Town of Conmee as they lobby the Provincial Government to amend The Municipal Act and Municipal Elections Act, as may be, so that people with a criminal record who have not had their record cleared from the RCMP Data Base by order of the Governor General of Canada, be prohibited from becoming a candidate in municipal elections.

    That Council directs staff to send the letter to the Premier of Ontario and the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing. 

  • Recommendation:

    That all correspondence items not otherwise dealt with are hereby received.

  • Recommendation:

    That council receives the Household Hazardous Waste Day Agreement report for consideration for participating in the 2021 Household Hazardous Waste Days in held in Owen Sound; and further

    That council considers adopting the agreement in the bylaw portion of the agenda.

  • Recommendation:

    That council receive the report “Recreation – Community Services Agreement Re. Elephant Thoughts Summer Camp Program” for information; and

    That council consider approval of the bylaw containing the Community Services Agreement during the bylaw portion of the meeting.

  • Recommendation:

    That the Council of the Municipality of West Grey gives first, second and third and final reading to Bylaw No. 26-2021, being a bylaw to authorize a Shared Services Agreement between the Municipality of West Grey and Elephant Thoughts for the provision of a Summer Camp Program.

  • Recommendation:

    That the Council of the Municipality of West Grey gives first, second and third and final reading to Bylaw No. 27-2021, being a bylaw to authorize a 2021 Household Hazardous Waste Program Municipal Participation Agreement between the Municipality of West Grey and the City of Owen Sound.

  • Recommendation:

    That the Council of the Municipality of West Grey gives first, second and third and final reading to Bylaw No. 28-2021, being a bylaw to adopt the employee salary grid.

  • Recommendation:

    That the Council of the Municipality of West Grey gives first, second and third and final reading to Bylaw No. 29-2021, being a bylaw to confirm the proceedings of the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of West Grey.

  • 2021 Budget Bylaw

    West Grey council hereby gives notice of its intention to pass a bylaw to adopt the 2021 budget at the regular council meeting to be held on May 4, 20021 at 9 a.m.

  • Recommendation:

    Moved: Deputy Mayor Hutchinson

    Whereas the COVID-19 pandemic has been a crisis globally, and locally; and

    Whereas local public health authorities have been leaders in public information and professional guidance; and

    Whereas the Grey Bruce Health Unit, under Dr. Ian Arra’s leadership has  tirelessly provided support, information and direction; and

    Whereas the Grey Bruce Health Unit continues serving and protecting our communities; and

    Whereas the Grey Bruce Health Unit recently set a national vaccine record;

    Therefore be it resolved that council directs staff to send a letter from West Grey council to congratulate and thank Dr. Arra and his staff for their dedicated service and commitment to community health.

  • Recommendation:

    That we do now adjourn at _______ a.m./p.m., to meet again on May 4, 2021 at 9 a.m. or at the call of the chair.
