  • Recommendation:

    That the minutes of the public meeting and the regular council meeting of May 4, 2021 are hereby adopted as circulated.

  • Recommendation:

    That the Climate Action Advisory Committee hereby recommends to West Grey council that:

    Whereas the Official Plan is a document that’s purpose is to provide a long-term strategy for managing growth and development within Durham and Neustadt to the year 2026. The goals, objective and policies contained in this Official Plan are intended to guide the decisions of the public authorities and private interests in order to maintain livable and attractive communities; and

    Whereas the Municipality of West Grey is always struggling to balance the costs of building and maintaining infrastructure with other obligations,

    We recommend that West Grey Council require that the updated Official Plan for the Municipality contain policies which specify the protection, retention and incorporation of natural infrastructure into all points of the planning process.

  • Recommendation:

    Whereas the Federal government has passed a motion to adopt 988, a national three-digit suicide and crisis hotline; and
    Whereas the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has increased the demand for suicide
    prevention services by 200 per cent; and
    Whereas existing suicide prevention hotlines require the user to remember a 10-digit
    number and go through directories or be placed on hold; and
    Whereas in 2O22 the United States will have in place a national 988 crisis hotline; and
    Whereas the Municipality of West Grey recognizes that it is a significant and important initiative to ensure critical barriers are removed to those in a crisis and seeking help;
    Now therefore be it resolved that the Municipality of West Grey endorses this 988 crisis line initiative; and
    that staff be directed to send a letter indicating such support to the local MP, MPP, Federal Minister of Health, the CRTC and local area municipalities to indicate our support.

  • Recommendation:

    That CBO report – 2020 Q3 Building Department Activity be received for information.

  • Recommendation:

    That CBO report – Municipal Law Enforcement Procedures be received for information.

  • Recommendation:

    THAT council receive the report: Community Improvement Plan (2021) Application Update for information.

  • Recommendation:

    That council receive Planner Spencer’s report and provides direction regarding the parkland dedication requirement for the subdivision; and

    That council directs staff to provide a future planning report to identify overall needs related to servicing and affordable housing options.

  • Recommendation:

    That council receives the report Council Member – Staff Relationship Policy Review for information; and

    That council considers adopting the revised policy in the bylaw portion of the agenda.

  • Recommendation:

    That bylaw 36-2021, being a bylaw to amend zoning bylaw No. 37-2006, be read a first, second and third and final time.

  • Recommendation:

    That bylaw 40-2021, being a bylaw to authorize alternative voting methods, be read a first, second and third and final time.

  • Recommendation:

    That bylaw 41-2021, being a bylaw to adopt a council member-staff relationship policy, be read a first, second and third and final time.

  • Recommendation:

    That bylaw 42-2021, being a bylaw to confirm the proceedings of council, be read a first, second and third and final time.

  • Recommendation:

    That the Council of the Municipality of West Grey does now go into a closed session at _____ p.m., with the CAO, Director of Administration/Clerk, Manager of Planning and Development and Director of Infrastructure and Public Works for the purpose of addressing matters pertaining to  personal matters about an identifiable individual, including municipal or local board employees; matters pertaining to a position, plan, procedure, criteria or instruction to be applied to any negotiations carried on or to be carried on by or on behalf of the municipality or local board; and to receive information explicitly supplied in confidence to the municipality or local board by Canada, a province or territory or a Crown agency of any of them.

  • Recommendation:

    That we do now adjourn at _______ p.m., to meet again on June 1, 2021 at 9 a.m. or at the call of the chair.
