In accordance with the West Grey Procedural Bylaw comments may be made to council with respect to a specific agenda item. A maximum of two minutes per person is allotted for comments, with a maximum of ten minutes in total for the comment period.

Council met in closed session for the purpose of addressing personal matters about an identifiable individual, including municipal or local board employees; and litigation or potential litigation, including matters before administrative tribunals, affecting the municipality or local board; and to receive information explicitly supplied in confidence to the municipality or local board by Canada, a province or territory or a Crown agency of any of them. The closed meeting on August 9, 2022 went to curfew, as set out in the procedural bylaw. The closed meeting adjourned at 1:30 p.m. 

  • Recommendation:

    That the minutes of the August 8, 2022 public meeting, August 9, 2022 regular council meeting and the August 24, 2022 special council meeting are hereby approved as circulated.

  • Recommendation:

    That council receive Planner Spencer’s report and considers the passage of a motion to support the request by the applicant’s agent to apply for a minor variance.

  • Recommendation:

    That council receive Planner Spencer’s report and considers first, second, and third reading of the bylaw at a subsequent council meeting and that a non-service agreement be registered on title at the landowner’s expense.

    That CBO report – 2022 Q2 Building Department Activity be received for information.

  • Recommendation:

    That council supports an application to the Natural Resources Canada federal government grant program:  Flood Hazard Identification Mapping Program (FHMIP); and

    That council approves matching funding contribution of up to $25,000 from the capital reserves, in the event of a successful grant application.

  • Recommendation:

    That report “Request to name corporate asset: Heritage Walkway Bridge” be received for information.

In accordance with the West Grey Procedural Bylaw members may request clarification or updates on previous agenda items.

  • Recommendation:

    Thay Bylaw 72-2022, being a bylaw to amend Bylaw 37-2006, be read a first, second and third and final time.

  • Recommendation:

    That Bylaw 75-2022, being a bylaw to authorize the naming of roads in the Broos subdivision, be read a first, second and third and final time.

  • Recommendation:

    That Bylaw 76-2022, being a bylaw to authorize the naming of roads in the Meadows Modular Home Park, be read a first, second and third and final time.

  • Recommendation:

    That Bylaw 77-2022, being a bylaw to confirm the proceedings of council, be read a first, second and third and final time.

    That all boards, committees, commissions, that receive monies from the West Grey Taxpayer budget, be recorded and uploaded to the municipal website, to be transparent. This will commence in January 2023.

    That West Grey council rescind the Trailer License Bylaw, known as Bylaw 73-2016 and amending Bylaw 8-2018.

In accordance with the West Grey Procedural Bylaw, comments are not debatable, nor shall they introduce new business. Comments shall be limited to five minutes per member.

  • Recommendation:

    That the Council of the Municipality of West Grey does now go into a closed session at _____ a.m./p.m., with the CAO/Deputy Clerk, Director of Finance/Treasurer and Manager of Planning and Development for the purpose of a proposed or pending acquisition or disposition of land by the municipality or local board; and for the purpose of addressing personnel matters about an identifiable individual, including municipal or local board employees.
